With 11 games in the DraftKings night slate, there are a lot of pitchers to choose from. Here are three cheap pitchers worth adding to your lineup.

DraftKings lineups are hard to construct if you’re not familiar with it. There is a lot of strategy that goes in to building your lineup. Do you spend on the top starting pitcher and skimp out on hitters or vice versa? Or, do you just add middle-of-the-road players? And you also have to take a look at matchups and the recent trends. You need to take this into consideration.

The August 6 late slate of games has a lot of promise, especially with the starting pitching. Of course you have your Stephen Strasburg types, but then there are also guys like Chad Bettis worth $6,000 less. Here are 3 cheap pitchers worth adding to your DraftKings late-game lineup.

Chad Bettis, vs. MIA, $5,900

Bettis has been the most consistent pitcher of the three. Over his last five games, he has averaged 18.5 points per start. He has a couple of 20-point performances mixed in. Bettis has been lucky enough to face three teams in the National League East, including the Atlanta Braves twice.

This time, he takes on another NL East team in the Miami Marlins. Though, the Marlins have bad pretty good post All-Star break. They rank eighth in runs and seventh in average. The Marlins lineup falls off a bit in the bottom half, so Bettis should be able to take advantage of this.

The only thing to worry about is the “Coors Field” effect with the long ball. Luckily, the Marlins rank 26th in home runs in the second half.

Patrick Corbin, vs. MIL, $5,400

Corbin’s last three starts are not what fantasy owners want to be a part of. He’s given up 10 earned runs on 23 hits and eight walks in 16 innings. Two of those games were against teams with good offenses, Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers. The other? On the road against the Milwaukee Brewers.

This time, he faces the Brewers at home. However, looking at Corbin’s splits, that may not be a good thing. He has a 6.91 ERA and 1.68 WHIP in Arizona. The Brewers rank 14th in runs scored and 13th in team average after the break.

If Corbin can keep everything in check. he’ll be a steal of the day.

Jake Thompson, @SD, $4,400

Thompson is getting his first career start, and it’s a decent matchup. The Padres, while they are scoring more frequently in recent games, still rank in the bottom third in batting average after the All-Star break.

Thompson had 21 starts in Triple-A this season. He went 11-5 with a 3.05 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and an 87:37 K:BB ratio in 129.2 innings. He isn’t a big strikeout guy, 6.0 K/9, but limits base runners with less than a hit per innings.

The fact that is first start is on the road could make owners a little hesitant, but I think this a matchup to exploit.

DraftKings’ prices for the starting pitchers are not that bad. If you want to splurge on one of the top guys, you will still have enough budget for one of the lower-priced pitchers. I do have these three ranked in how confident I am in them. There are a couple of other pitchers I would use ahead of these guys, but the price was a little too steep.
