New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto is off to an emphatic start to his young career.

The New York Mets organization has a lot to look forward to over the next few years. With that young and seemingly unhittable pitching staff they formed through their farm system, and young lineup around them, the Mets certainly look like a team prime and ready to make another run at the World Series.

One of their many young stars on the offensive end is left fielder, Michael Conforto. Conforto is a vital part to that Mets offense here in 2016, and will be for a number of years for the Mets.

The Mets drafted Conforto with the 10th overall pick in the MLB draft back in 2014. He was drafted out of Oregon State University. It did not take long for Conforto to reach the major league level with the many talents he possesses.

More from Fantasy Baseball

If you’re looking for a potential keeper this fantasy baseball  season or just simply looking for youth, fantasy owners have to look no further than Conforto. He burst on to the MLB scene in 2015, where he had a short, but impressive rookie season for the Met’s last year. Of course, who can forget the World Series run to top off a fantastic year.

Conforto was not shy when it came to the big stage of the MLB postseason. He had an impressive five hits and recorded two home runs and four RBI in the World Series alone last year. In total, he hit three home runs and 6 RBI throughout the playoffs.

Michael Conforto showing this type of young prowess in the most high pressure situation baseball has to offer, is very impressive and should be valued by fantasy players everywhere. During his brief regular season stint in the MLB last season,  he hit for .270 with nine bombs and 26 RBI.

Conforto picked up right where he left off in 2015. To start off the 2016 season, Conforto has posted a .291 batting average off of an already impressive 30 hits. Conforto has it five homers with 19 RBI as well. I see a lot of Mike Trout in this young man with the way he goes after the ball and his passion for the game. And through his first 85 games, which is roughly half an MLB season, Conforto already has 77 hits, 14 home runs, and 45 RBI. Highly impressive if you ask me.

Why Michael Conforto is not owned in 100 percent of all fantasy leagues out there is beyond me, but this young man can flat out play. If he is available in your league today, do yourself and favor and pick him up. Conforto is just 23 years old and has much promise for his career ahead of him.

The Mets currently stand atop the NL East, a half game ahead of their foe, the Washington Nationals. Look for the Mets and Conforto be stealing headlines for many years to come.
