Fantasy Baseball Week 6 is here. Who should you add from the waiver wire to help your team this week?

As week 6 in the fantasy baseball year approaches, which players can you pick up from the waiver wire that can give your team an extra boost help lead you to victory? Who has the hot hand? Who has the best matches? These can be your steals of the week. Here are some players that can help your team get the W.

More from Fantasy Baseball

1. Brandon Phillips (2B) Reds

If you’re in need of a second baseman or some more offensive fire power, look no further than Reds second baseman, Brandon Phillips. Phillips has been the definition of consistency throughout his career and is once again at it in 2016. Thus far, he has hit six home runs with 16 RBI. Phillips is also hitting just under .300. He is always hitting in the upper .200’s. His career batting average currently stands at .274. These are all great signs for Phillips. Just this past week Phillips went 9-for-24 with five home runs and nine RBI.

This hot serge can continue on for Phillips as he will be facing both the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Philadelphia Phillies this week. He will not be facing the most elite pitching this week either. He will face Jon Niese this Monday, a pitcher which Phillips has a career .429 batting average against. Niese has also surrendered two home runs and 3 RBI against Phillips. He will also be going up against the likes of  Adam Morgan and Jeremy Hellickson; 2 pitchers who have never truly got their feet to the ground throughout their careers. Look for Phillips and the Reds to light up the Phillies pitching this weekend.

Phillips finished just outside the top five in terms of fantasy production last year and has found himself up there once again this season. Phillips should definitely be a nice waiver wire pick up this week and for the rest of the season for fantasy owners out there.

2. Jackie Bradley Jr. (OF) Red Sox

My second option for a waiver pick up this week would be the Red Sox 26-year-old starting center fielder, Jackie Bradley Jr. Bradley too is off to a hot start in 2016 and is also riding a 13-game hitting streak. While the 13 game hitting streak is eating up most of the headlines recently for Bradley, he has so far this season hit for three homers and 15 RBI. He also has scored 14 runs off of 28 hits thus far. Bradley is currently owned in only 26% of all ESPN leagues, surprising considering his current hitting streak he has going for Boston.

Just his past three games as well, Bradley has hit two home runs and certainly seems to be surging. He could be a solid acquisition for fantasy teams this week and in the near future, especially since he should be easy to come by in most ESPN leagues out there. The Red Sox will be taking on the Oakland Athletics and the Houston Astros this week. Both teams of which are currently struggling in the NL West. Bradley should look forward to hitting against Collin McHugh this week as he went 3-for-4 against him last season.

Bradley started his career in 2013, and since then, has slowly been on the rise. This may be the breakout season this year for the young outfielder. He is certainly off to great start for it. Look for him on your waiver wire.

3. Marcell Ozuna (OF) Marlins

Marlins outfielder, Marcell Ozuna should also be on your watch list this upcoming week in fantasy. Ozuna has had a steady start to his 2016 campaign. He comes in holding a .269 batting average to go along with six home runs and 16 RBI. This ranks among the top players Miami has to offer. What truly stands out on the stat sheet however, are his four bombs in the last seven games. This is why he should be on your fantasy radar this upcoming week.

Ozuna and the Marlins will take on the Milwalkee Brewers early on in the week. A team who’s pitching has struggled mightily so far this season. Look for Ozuna to put up multiple runs against the Brewers pitching staff. They will then finish off the week with the Washington Nationals. Pick and choose your starts here with Ozuna as the Washington pitching staff is no easy feat to conquer these days.

Ozuna is a good middle of the road type outfielder that can help your team any given week, but is not necessarily worth holding on to for extended periods of time. However, Ozuna will look to continue his hot hitting this week and possibly help your fantasy team to victory as well.

These three players have been lighting up the MLB as of recent, and should continue. Look for these players to give your team a boost this week and in some cases, fill a much needed roster position. Especially for a player like Phillips, who has proven time and time again to be an effective fantasy player. He is definitely a player that could be worth holding on to.
