Catchers have been widely unpredictable this season. Besides Buster Posey, the top names have been disappointing. Some have been hurt while others are just struggling. Regardless, there are very few reliable catchers to own throughout the season. To help you out, here are four catchers that you should either buy or sell.

Nick Hundley, COL

After spening 6+ years with the San Diego Padres and half a season with the Baltimore Orioles, Hundley looks to have found his home with the Colorado Rockies. While batting at Coors Field has helped, Hundley is getting on base as well. He has a .317/.356/.504 line with five home runs, 16 RBI, eight walks and 28 strikeouts. He has three home runs in his last seven games. Hundley is the most-added catcher in ESPN.com leagues, +9.2 percent. He can help you with average and provide some power at a position that isn’t helping anyone now.

More from Fantasy Baseball

Yadier Molina, StL

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. The power has been on a decline for the last couple of years, 22 home runs (2012), 12 (2013), seven (2014), zero (2015). Another surprising stat is that Molina has scored just nine runs this season. Nine. With a .333 OBP, he should have 19 runs scored. He is still the fourth-highest owned catcher in ESPN leagues at 90.8 percent and is helping no one.  If you can trade him for something, more power to you, but you may be better off dropping him.

Yasmani Grandal, LAD

In most leagues, you only roster one catcher; and if your catcher is hurt, you need to move on. Grandal was placed on the 7-day DL with a concussion. He is back with the team, but concussions are tricky. Before the injury, Grandal was hitting .400 with three home runs and 15 RBI. He is the second-most dropped catcher at 14.1 percent. As long as he doesn’t show any symptoms, Grandal is a top-10 catcher. He has some home-run power, can drive runners home and has great plate disciplie, 10:10 K:BB ratio in May. If an owner in your league dropped Grandal, pick him up.

Caleb Joseph, BAL

Joseph has faired well with Matt Wieters recovering. He has four home runs, 18 RBI with a .261 average. While it’s nothing spectacular, it’s better than most catchers. Wieters has been rehabbing in the minors in recent weeks and will be activated next Friday in Cleveland. Playing time is a must in fantasy baseball, so Joseph’s value will be dropping. In a deeper league, Joseph is worth holding, but in standard leagues he will be back on the waiver wire. I would see if you could trade him to whomever owns Wieters and get something in return.
