The number before each second baseman’s name represents their overall rank in the 2015 Fantasy Baseball Rankings.

18. #235 Scooter Gennett Milwaukee Brewers

Scooter Gennett is quietly a pretty solid ballplayer, but he has been on the strong side of a platoon his whole career.  His career 83 plate appearances against lefties resulted in a ghastly .04 BB/K, .013 ISO, and -29 wRC+.  However, Gennett is kind of a beast against righties with a career .846 OPS and easily worth a spot in deeper leagues.  I am curious to see if manager Ron Roenicke has him hit against lefties in Spring Training games.

19. #236 Daniel Murphy New York Mets

Despite a career .290 batting average and a strong 2013 fantasy season, Daniel Murphy is just a boring option to me.  I think he is a 10-10 guy with a solid average, but I am just not interested in buying him.  There is nothing wrong with owning a player like Daniel Murphy who has a bunch of average to just above average tools, but I feel that he will repeat his 2014 season at best.

20. #246 Brandon Phillips Cincinnati Reds

Man, Brandon Phillips sure fell off the cliff last season.  From 2010 to 2013, Phillips hit exactly 18 home runs each year, but he was utterly useless to all fantasy owners last seasons with only 8 balls being sent over the fence.  I think he flashes a little more power, but his days as top 5 or so 2B option are gone.

21. #247 Ben Zobrist Oakland A’s (also SS and OF eligible)

I just do not get the love for Ben Zobrist in fantasy baseball.  He has been a pretty mediocre fantasy option for two straight seasons, and he is now almost 34 years old.  Everyone is always excited about his multi-position eligibility, but why do I need a guy to be mildly productive at best at three positions?

22. #251 Rougned Odor Texas Rangers

I published my 2015 fantasy baseball rankings just before Jurickson Profar had to get surgery on his shoulder that will cost him a second straight season.  While the news is disappointing, it opens the door up full time for Rougned Odor in 2015.  He is still only 21 and continued development seems likely because he was being attacked with more than just fastballs as the season wore on.  Odor could be a nice option in the future.

23. #254 Asdrubal Cabrera Tampa Bay Rays (also SS eligible)

Asdrubal Cabrera is probably the last player with second base eligibility that I would even consider owning.  He still may be a 15-10 guy, which is not the worst thing in the world from a middle infielder.  I think the most interesting thing about Cabrera is that he posted an amazing 87/25/92/17/.273 line in 2011.  I do not remember that at all, but I do know Cabrera will not come close to that this season.

24. Not ranked Emilio Bonifacio Chicago White Sox (also OF eligible)

Bonifacio could steal 30+ bases with fairly regular playing time, but I doubt that will happen unless there is an injury in Chicago.  In the meantime, Emilio Bonifacio is a nice spot start for stolen bases when he gets in the lineup.

25. Not ranked Nick Franklin Tampa Bay Rays

I guess Nick Franklin could hit as many as 15 homers this season, but you would need to be in a crazy deep league to even consider rostering him at this point.  Franklin is an excellent option for your AL East only 16 team leagues.
