We had an interesting day of fantasy baseball stats on Saturday. A team won a game 17-0, but failed to produce one player on today’s recap. Actually, only two teams did, with one pitcher and one hitter.

We start with a player that a few fantasy players might be familiar with.

Daily Fantasy Baseball Stats MVP

Mike Trout — Los Angeles Angels

A very typical day for the best player in the game. No, he didn’t steal any bases, but he found a way to have strong fantasy baseball stats — and help his team win — in pretty much every way possible. It was a good day to have him on the roster.

Then again, every day with Trout on your team is a good day to have him on the roster. There are plenty of great players, but Trout looks to head into 2015 as the undisputed top player in fantasy baseball.

Daily Fantasy Baseball Stats Honorable Mentions

1. Jose Quintana — Chicago White Sox

It’s hard to get much more dominant than this. The Twins aren’t exactly the most dominant offense in the game, but Quintana did exactly what you should do, producing some great numbers in the process.

Quintana is certainly capable of having some bad starts, but he’s had a very nice season for fantasy owners overall, especially since he was likely undrafted.

2. Jered Weaver — Los Angeles Angels

One strikeout more and Weaver would have been one spot higher. Hopefully Weaver can find a way to sleep after just missing out. The fact that his team is about to clinch the AL West will probably help.

Weaver hasn’t had a great season, but he’s now gone over 200 innings, which is not irrelevant. His season’s not great for his standards, but he’s still a nice pitcher to have on your fantasy team, especially if there’s a good chance he’ll give you a full season.

3. Jose Abreu — Chicago White Sox

[table id=1243 /]

A few guys could have received this spot, but the runs and overall solid day gave Abreu the edge.

This was Abreu’s first homer since the middle of August. He’s tailed off a bit but will still likely come just short of 40 bombs, which is a nice little rookie season by any standards.
