Why are we still looking at the day’s top fantasy baseball stats? After all, several fantasy seasons are already over and now, all 32 NFL teams have played a game. Well, those of you who are alive need to know who’s hot, both on their teams, and their rivals teams.

The guy we start with today might well be available in your league.

Daily Fantasy Baseball Stats MVP

Marcus Stroman — Toronto Blue Jays

Stroman couldn’t have been much better on Monday, completely dominating the Cubs. This was obviously the best of the group, but Stroman has now recorded three straight quality starts after a bit of a dry patch.

Lastly, I have to personally thank Mr. Stroman. Thanks to the trials and tribulations of August and September, my last few weeks of Dixon’s Picks have brought less than stellar results. This week, however, we’re at least off to a good start.

Daily Fantasy Baseball Stats Honorable Mentions

1. Albert Pujols — Los Angeles Angels

If those stats look familiar, it’s because we’ve seen them before from Albert, and recently. Pujols gave his fantasy owners an early present on Monday. Danny Salazar and the Cleveland Indians were not so fortunate.

Like the rest of his teammates, Pujols has been on fire over the last week. When he’s slugging the ball and getting around the bases at a decent rate, Pujols can still be one of the best fantasy baseball stats producers in this silly little game.

2. Carl Crawford — Los Angeles Dodgers

Apologies to Tyler Flowers, who had a great day but unlike Marcus Stroman, doesn’t carry quite enough ownership to be considered for the fantasy baseball stats countdown unless his numbers blow thee others away.

I’m not so sure I’d really want Crawford on my fantasy team down the stretch, as the playing time in the Los Angeles outfield is really hard to come by. But when he’s out there, he’s doing well. That can’t be ignored, either.

3. Clayton Kershaw — Los Angeles Dodgers

[table id=1208 /]

Much like Pujols, we’ve seen this recently. This Kershaw’s second start in a row with this this identical stat-line. When you put him out there against a mediocre offense in a playoff race, games like this are just inevitable.

There’s so little to add about Kershaw. He’s the game’s best pitcher and possibly the best we’ve seen in a long time. I don’t care if you consider yourself an old school or new school guy, any metric you could possibly draw up supports that notion.
