Man, the fantasy baseball stats on Sunday were impressive. Our No. 2 guy would have been an easy No. 1 nearly every day this season, but not today.

The hitters were dominant, claiming three of the four spots today. As dominant as all of the hitters were, one was clearly ahead of the rest.

Daily Fantasy Baseball Stats MVP

Nelson Cruz — Baltimore Orioles

I’m guessing some of the Rays are now wishing that they had just walked Cruz a couple of times, as he drove in all of Baltimore’s runs on Sunday. The power is what Cruz is known for, but you really couldn’t have asked for a better day at the dish, as Cruz was clearly seeing it like a volleyball.

Cruz is now over 100 RBI and his next homer will be No. 40. With the PED concerns now a thing of the past, someone’s about to get paid in a big, big way.

Daily Fantasy Baseball Stats Honorable Mentions

1. Adrian Gonzalez — Los Angeles Dodgers

[table id=1203 /]

Another guy who reached 100 RBI with his performance on Sunday and. Another guy that pretty much carried his team, as Gonzalez drove in six of the seven Dodgers runs. That’s his third homer in two games and he’s now hit in five straight. Gonzalez might just be heating up at the right time for his fantasy owners and of course, the Dodgers.

This hasn’t been a great power year for Gonzalez, but he’ll likely be at around 25 by the end of the season. The guy’s about as steady as they come.

2. Howie Kendrick — Los Angeles Angels

[table id=1204 /]

Really, any of the four guys listed today might have been a No. 1 pick on most days this year. Kendrick had an all-around great day on Sunday in Minnesota, pretty much doing everything with the bat for the Angels.

Kendrick is a guy to keep an eye on, as he’s been red hot this week. If he’s on your team, you might be getting some fine value right now.

3. Carlos Carrasco — Cleveland Indians

[table id=1205 /]

What a gem. Jose Abreu and the rest of the White Sox just couldn’t do anything against Carrasco, who’s also red hot right now.

Carrasco’s fantasy owners have been getting their money’s worth since he joined the Indians starting rotation. He still carries some decent availability. If he’s available and you need some pitching help for the fantasy playoffs, I’d at least give this guy a hard, hard look.
