Fantasy Baseball Stats: Daily All-Stars from June 9

Monday was a day of great fantasy baseball stats. The hitters swept all four spots on today’s countdown. Actually, on a normal day, any of the honorable mentions could have easily been a No. 1.
But Monday was no ordinary day. Our daily MVP was not only the runaway No. 1, but produced the best single day of stats we’ve seen all year, and by a great margin.

Lonnie Chisenhall — Cleveland Indians

Chisenhall was heating up before Monday and was a rising sleeper for the more attentive fantasy players out there.
Well, he’s a sleeper no more, recording nor only the best statistical game of the year, but one of the best in the history of this great league. How good? Well, ESPN’s Recap of the game put some pretty impressive perspective on it.
"Major League Baseball said it was the first time a player went 5 for 5 with three homers and nine RBIs, since the RBI became a statistic in 1920. He also is only the fourth big leaguer to have at least five hits, nine RBIs and three homers in a game — first since Boston’s Fred Lynn in 1975, according to STATS."
Yeah. Pretty good.
Daily Fantasy Baseball Stats Honorable Mentions
1. Scott Van Slyke — Los Angeles Dodgers

I don’t want to do Don Mattingly‘s job for him, but even when everyone’s healthy, are we really sure that Van Slyke isn’t one of the Dodgers best three outfielders?
Unfortunately, this game helped virtually no owners. But as the season gets deeper, if things like trades or more injuries occur and get Van Slyke more playing time, he’s got sleeper potential.
2. Michael Brantley — Cleveland Indians

Brantely and Chisenhall did help each other, but they both had great fantasy baseball stats even without each other’s help.
I am a fan of Brantley’s long term fantasy value this year. He’s similar to Alex Rios, although not as dominant in a few stats. Still, this is a plus contributor in pretty much every category, and it’s hard to ask for much more.
3. Jose Reyes — Toronto Blue Jays

A great day where Reyes contributed positively in every single fantasy stat looks quite ordinary compared to the previous three games, but Reyes was in vintage form on Monday.
If he can stay healthy and produce a few more games like this, Reyes has potential to be a Top-3 fantasy shortstop for the rest of the way. Big ifs yes, but not impossible by any means.
