Fantasy Baseball Stats: Daily All-Stars from June 5

The fantasy baseball stats were strong on Thursday, just not always from the expected sources. Regardless of that, the daily all-stars definitely earned the spots on today’s recap.

Daily Fantasy Baseball Stats MVP

Marcell Ozuna — Miami Marlins

The Marlins offense was completely on point on Thursday, and Ozuna’s stats benefited from that more than anyone else’s.

I was actually one of the few that had Ozuna available in free agency, and I scooped him up. He’s not on a 30 home run, 100 RBI pace and is logging consistent at-bats in what’s turning into a very solid Marlins offense.

Daily Fantasy Baseball Stats Honorable Mentions

1. Chris Owings — Arizona Diamondbacks

Maybe Owings just needed Didi Gregorius to get called up to put a little fire in him. Well, either that or a trip to Coors Field against a slumping Rockies team.

Either way, he didn’t help many people, but Owings was on fire Thursday, producing a dominant fantasy line in the process.

2. Adam Jones — Baltimore Orioles

Another hot game from Jones, who’s been on fire over the last week or so. Jones will miss Texas, as he scored four runs, hit two homers, drove in four, and hit for a cool .571 over the three games in Arlington.

When the Orioles — namely Chris Davis and Nelson Cruz — are hitting well, Jones has absolute potential to be a Top-10 fantasy player, or even better.

3. Madison Bumgarner — San Francisco Giants

It would have been a clean sweep for the hitters today but according to ESPN, Tampa’s Kevin Kiermaier is owned in zero percent fantasy baseball league. If he’s owned in no leagues, his fantasy baseball stats help nobody.

That’s not the case with Bumgarner. The NL’s Pitcher of the Month in May kept rolling and while his April wasn’t great, the young lefty is on his way to a fantastic season.
