A strong quartet of players earned spots on today’s fantasy baseball stats recap, with two hitters and two pitchers each easily making the list.

We start with a guy that will make George Michael proud.

Daily Fantasy Baseball MVP

Josh Reddick — Oakland Athletics

I actually thought Reddick would be the top guy in today’s fantasy baseball stats recap by a long ways. He was actually pushed pretty well, but this kind of day is a little too hard to keep from the top.

Break things down to numbers as much as you’d like, but this is all about Careless Whisper. Really, who among us wouldn’t get much better with a little more Wham! in our lives?

Daily Honorable Mentions

1. Christian Yelich — Miami Marlins

[table id=745 /]

As the stats show, Yelich did it all for the Marlins on Friday night. He definitely was helped by some strong-hitting teammates, but Yelich did quite a bit on his own, as well.

This is definitely one of the game’s best, young players, and he can beat you in several different ways. Imagine how good he’ll be once he turns 23. The 2014 Marlins season will definitely be hurt with the loss of Jose Fernandez, but if Jeffery Loria wants to keep this core together, this will be a fun team to watch for a while.

2. Drew Hutchison — Toronto Blue Jays

[table id=747 /]

Hutchison has definitely been inconsistent this year, but he out-dueled Yu Darvish on Friday, shutting down a potent Rangers offense in the process.

Definitely too early for fantasy owners to jump on the bandwagon, but another strong performance in his next outing vs. the Red Sox, and we may be looking at him a little differently.

3. Chris Tillman — Baltimore Orioles

[table id=746 /]

This was a welcome sight for fantasy owners (presently company included), as Tillman had had several mediocre starts in a row after a strong beginning to the season.

This was one of my favorite guys coming into the year, so I hadn’t quite jumped off the bandwagon. If you did, I’d get pretty close to it now, if not back on to it.
