Fantasy Baseball Stats: Daily All-Stars from May 13

Tuesday gave us another day of some great fantasy baseball stats. Not quite like Monday, when we changed the normal format, but I did have to make a few tough cuts today.

We start with a slugger from one of baseball’s best and hottest teams.

Daily Fantasy Baseball MVP

Brandon Moss — Oakland Athletics

The A’s definitely helped Moss out today, as produced RBI’s with three different hits, driving in three different runners, plus himself twice. When a hot hitter meets up with a helpful team, we get great days like this one.

Moss is beginning to heat up and is currently on a pace to drive in more than 130 runs, showing that he may have been worth the mid-late round draft pick.

Daily Honorable Mentions

1. David Ortiz — Boston Red Sox

Pretty much a judgment call, taking Moss’ extra RBI as opposed to Papi’s extra hit. But even in a losing effort, Ortiz gave his old team yet another reminder of what they let go.

Ortiz is showing the power that we saw in October of 2013, and what we’ve seen for the last decade. When he heats up, he’s not a guy you want to see on a rival team.

2. David Price — Tampa Bay Rays

Price hasn’t had a great start to the season, but games like Tuesday showed that he’s absolutely one of the game’s best pitchers, and not a guy you want to be going against.

Actually, while his overall numbers are a little down from what we’ve come to expect, he’s thrown in some great outings. Tuesday’s game was Price’s third 10+ strikeout performance of the season.

3. Dallas Keuchel — Houston Astros

Dallas Keuchel: May 13

It was difficult leaving Curtis Granderson and Bronson Arroyo off today, but Keuchel’s performance was just that good, throwing a great game against a great hitting team in a great hitter’s park.

Keuchel’s game didn’t help many fantasy owners, which is unfortunate. He’s thrown a quality start in six of his last seven outings. After Tuesday’s game against the Rangers, his ERA/WHIP sits at 3.06/1.11.
