Fantasy Baseball Stats: Daily All-Stars from April 22
Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports
Tuesday’s top fantasy baseball stats performers were relatively even, as we’ll look at two hitters today, and both starting pitchers from one of the best pitched games you’ll ever see.
We start with one of the game’s all-time great hitters taking his place on an exclusive list.
Daily Fantasy Baseball MVP
Albert Pujols — Los Angeles Angels

There was a time when I could name every player on the career 500 home run list. Now? Not even close.
Still, it is a tremendous accomplishment and when you hit two in one game to reach that milestone, you earn the top spot in the next day’s top fantasy baseball stats recap. Add that to his list of accomplishments.
Daily Honorable Mentions
1. Jose Fernandez — Miami Marlins
[table id=622 /]
Man, this kid is a phenom. Every time I see him pitch, I get excited as a baseball fan that we’re probably going to get more than a decade of watching him. He now has an ERA under 2.00, a WHIP under 1.00, and a K/9 of 13.4. Those are incredible stats, but even better when you consider that he’s only made five starts and one of them was bad.
We might have to slot him into a spot on this list once every five days.
2. Alex Wood — Atlanta Braves
[table id=623 /]
Wood was definitely the hard luck loser on Tuesday, but he threw a gem and is red hot right now.
This wasn’t quite 1963’s classic between Juan Marichal and Warren Spahn, but it’s about as good of a pitcher’s duel as you’ll see the in 21st Century.
3. Scooter Gennett — Milwaukee Brewers
[table id=621 /]
A good day for the pitchers, but as good as they were neither Johnny Cueto, David Price, Collin McHugh, or James Shields had dominant enough fantasy stats to make it over Gennett.
Gennett’s day wasn’t overwhelming or anything, but he did contribute positively in every single offensive category. You won’t always make this list the next day when that happens, but it’s definitely a valuable fantasy day.
