Fantasy Baseball Stats: Daily All-Stars from April 8

Bombs away! Five different players hit multiple homers on Tuesday, making this list infinitely harder to make. So, who were the best of the best? Which players produced the best fantasy baseball stats on April 8?

Daily Fantasy Baseball MVP

Ryan Braun — Milwaukee Brewers

When you have the first three home-run day of the season, you get this spot. A friend of mine joked that he had to take a drug test immediately after the game. Judging by Bud Selig’s history, I’d actually bet Braun had to take one between at-bats, but I digress.

His first home runs since his suspension last year and after a sluggish start to the season, his fantasy owners had to love seeing this. When Braun’s driving the ball — to all fields, no less — he’s one of the most dangerous players in all of baseball.

Definitely a good sign for those who have Braun on their teams. Definitely a bad sign for those who’s chief rivals have Braun on their teams.

Daily Honorable Mentions

1. Avisail Garcia & Jose Abreu — Chicago White Sox

These two teammates get mentioned together. Both had been held homerless to start the season, but broke out in a big way on Tuesday. Given the White Sox depth in the outfield, at first base, and in turn, DH, it was important for them to show manager Robin Ventura that they could perform well here. You never want to lose at-bats, but especially at Coors Field where they don’t use a DH.

Both definitely took advantage of the high altitude.

2. Starlin Castro — Chicago Cubs

People breaking out of sluggish starts seems to be the theme of April 8, at Castro is no different. Coming off of a dismal season, Castro was a serious risk for anyone who took him. Since failing to record a hit in the first two games of the season, he’s hit in five straight and is now maybe beginning to show some power.

3. Corey Hart — Seattle Mariners

Hart breaks the trend…kind of.

He keeps things going because like everyone else mentioned, he hadn’t had the greatest start to this season. Unlike the others, though, he’d hit a home run before Tuesday. Braun may or may not ever be the player he once was, but it’s good to know that he can still pound the ball when he needs to.
